Angela Volpe (Angelita) lives and works in Italy; after completing classical studies, she studied Psychology at the University of Palermo (Sicily). She specialized in group-analytic psychotherapy at COIRAG. She worked for 15 years at a private Assisted Healthcare Residence affiliated with the National Health Service (SSN), with non-self-sufficient geriatric patients suffering from neurological and cognitive pathologies.

She works as an individual, group, and family psychotherapist at a private practice and at a Psychotherapy Center of the Group Analysis Laboratory. She has progressively developed a strong interest in severe mental illness, in Democratic Therapeutic Communities (DTCs), in Community Psychotherapy, and in all dialogical and compassionate approaches to mental suffering (multifamily group psychotherapy, dialogical practices, democratic therapeutic community, socio-occupational inclusion, relational practices). She holds a Master’s degree in Multifamily Psychoanalysis and training in Dialogical Practices. She works as a clinical supervisor at various therapeutic communities and residential services in Sicily, spreading the model of democratic therapeutic communities. She works as a trainer in numerous public Mental Health Services on the topics of Multifamily Psychoanalysis and the Democratic Therapeutic Community, and has contributed to the launch of several multifamily groups in Italy. She is a lecturer in the Master’s program in Multifamily Psychoanalysis at the Italian Laboratory of Multifamily Psychoanalysis (LIPsiM). She is a lecturer at the COIRAG School of Specialization in Group-Analytic Psychotherapy in Sicily and at the SPPG School of Psychoanalytic and Group-Analytic Psychotherapy in Calabria and Tuscany. She was President of the International Network of Democratic Therapeutic Communities (INDTC) from 2020 to 2023 and has been President of INDTC Italy from 2020 to the present. She is a member of the Group Analysis Laboratory, of LIPsiM, and of AIRSAM. She has written several scientific articles on the topics of the DTC, multifamily group psychotherapy, and dialogical and relational practices in Italian and international journals, as well as contributions to books.
